The Sacrament of Penance—also called Confession or Reconciliation—is how Catholics receive forgiveness for sins committed after Baptism and restore their relationship with God. At St. John Cantius, Confession is offered on Saturdays in the afternoon (3:30-4:15 pm).

You can also make an appointment if needed.

To go to Confession, begin by telling the priest how long it has been since your last confession, confess your sins clearly and briefly, pray an Act of Contrition, and receive absolution and a penance to complete afterward. Mortal sins must be confessed, while venial sins may be included if you wish. The parish encourages regular confession—typically every two or three weeks unless a serious sin requires going sooner—to help you stay in a state of grace and grow spiritually.
