The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick brings God’s healing, comfort, and strength to anyone who is seriously ill, suffering with old age, preparing for major surgery, or facing the challenges of illness. Through the anointing with sacred oil and the prayer of the Church, participants are united with Christ’s own suffering, receive peace and courage, and may even experience physical healing if it is fitting for their salvation.
